Gearbox mount

The new gearbox mount has been fixed onto the car.

I'm not happy with the way the brake pipe now sits below the underside of the car with the braket attached so I've re-positioned the pipe over the top of the bracket. However, I'm unable to get a P-clip onto the pipe at the front as there is not enough room for a rivet gun to get in. This means the engine and gearbox will need to come out again but at the same time this will also allow the fuel lines to be adjusted and fixed into the final position as these were left unattached at the front until I'd had a chance to see how much space there was around the gearbox. In hindsight, a trial fit of the engine first would have been useful! Image below shows new bracket from the underside and the brake pipe before I moved it.

A new alternator has been purchased. This is a Denso alternator from a Daihatsu Sportrack and chosen for it's small size. I'll need a new pulley as the one that came with it has four grooves whereas I'll need one with six for the zetec.
Photo taken alongside the Sierra's cvh alternator for comparison (which unfortunatley has a five groove pulley)

I've not decided which side of the engine to mount the alternator. This could be underneath the inlet manifold or under the exhaust depending on which side has the most room.

The shorter oil filter is too long to fit the steering extension. A remote filter might get round this.

Pedals

The clutch cable that came from the donor sierra has no adjument mechanism so a new cable from a 1600 capri MK3 has been purchased instead which also fits the ford type 9 gearbox (part ref MCC1057)

The other end of the cable attached to the clutch pedal which has been bolted into the pedal bracket. The brake pedal has also been attached after fixing a clevis to a length of 8mm threaded bar to actuate the master cylinder.

Next job is to replace the gearbox mount.
